Domestic cement consumption increased 18.05% in December of 2025 and during the year 2025 accumulating an increase of 7.50%

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that, in December of 2025, the domestic cement consumption increased by 18.05%, compared to the same month of 2024, explained by the dynamism in the execution of works coming from the private sector.
Based in the technical report Conjuncture Progress of Economic Activity also informed that this indicator closed the year 2025 with a growth of 7.50%, compared with the year 2024.
Fishing sector increased by 0.59%
During December of 2025, Fishing sector grew 0.59% compared to the same month of 2024. In this result influenced the fishing of continental origin that grew by 13.00%, due to the greater extraction of species for consumption in fresh state (27.8%); meanwhile, it reduced for frozen (-32.9%) and for preparation of curing (-8.0%).
On the other hand, fishing of maritime origin decreased 0.05% before the lower landing of anchovy resource for indirect human consumption (for fishmeal and fish oil), that totalized a capture of 703,034 tons, figure that, against the 925,480 tons extracted during December of 2024, which resulted in a reduction of 24.04%, due to the lower capture registered in the north-center area of the coastline.
Nevertheless, the landing of species for direct human consumption grew 63.41%, explained by three of its four destinations: frozen (166.6%), processing of caning (32.2%) and for consumption in fresh state (4.7%); nevertheless, it decreased for the preparation of curing (-37.5%).
Production of hydrocarbons subsector decreased by 4.39%
Hydrocarbons subsector decreased by 4.39%, during the last month of the year 2025, compared to the same month of the year 2024, due to the lower volume of exploitation of crude oil (-16.0%) and of liquids of natural gas (-6.3%), meanwhile that it increased the production of natural gas (9.6%).
Production of electricity increased 2.35%
During December of 2025, electricity generation grew 2.35%, compared to the last month of the year 2024. This positive variation was based in the generation of thermoelectric origin energy (59.82%) and wind-solar renewable origin energy (26.45%); nevertheless, hydroelectric origin energy decreased (-26.39%).
Among the companies that outstood by its production were: Termochilca S.A.C., Engie Energía Perú S.A., Fenix Power Perú S.A., Empresa de Generación Eléctrica de Arequipa S.A. (Egasa), Geppsa Generación Perú S.A., GM Operaciones y Mantenimiento S.A.C. and Orygen Perú S.A.A. On the other hand, companies that decreased their production were: Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Machupicchu S.A. (Egemsa), San Gabán S.A., Inland Energy S.A.C., Energía Renovable del Sur S.A., Orazul Energy Perú S.A., Electroperú S.A., among others.
Consumption credits increased by 10.80%
During December 2025, consumption credits totalized S/ 79,498 million and registered a growth of 10.80%, compared to the same month of the year 2024.
Likewise, mortgage loans totalized S/ 71,101 million, with a variation of 6.60%; as well as the credits granted to big, medium, small and micro-enterprises that totalized S/ 218,874 million and increased by 2.74%, compared to the same month of the year 2024.
On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking was of 6,826 thousand units and registered an increase of 8.13%, compared to the same month of the last year.
Total global imports increased 14.05%
During the last month of 2025, total global imports was of US$ 5,648 million and registered a positive variation of 14.05%, compared to the value registered in December of 2024.
During December of 2025, import value of consumption goods totalized US$ 1,189 million and showed a growth of 6.86%, compared to the value registered during the same month of 2024. In addition, it registered a positive behavior the import of raw materials and intermediate products that totalized US$ 2,647 million and increased by 8,89%, compared to the value registered in December of 2024.
In addition, the import of capital goods and construction materials totalized US$ 1,809 million and registered an increase of 28.73%, compared to the same month of the year 2024.
