Gross Domestic Products increased 3.2% during the fourth quarter of 2025 and during the year 2025 accumulated a growth of 3.4%

During the fourth quarter of 2025, the Gross Domestic Products (GDP) increased by 3.2%, compared to the same quarter of the last year, driven by the gross fixed investment (10.8%), household consumption (3.1%), as well as export of goods and services (5.3%). In addition, transformation (4.7%) and services (3.4%) activities registered a positive performance. At the end of year 2025, Peruvian economy increased by 3.4%, compared to the year 2024.
The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report Behavior of the Peruvian Economy, stated that these results take place in a context of stability of internal prices, reduction of exchange rate and increase of international quotations of our main export products.
In addition, it was informed that the GDP seasonally adjusted, during the quarter under analysis, increased by 0.6%, compared to the immediate previous quarter.
Private final consumption increased by 3.1%
During the fourth quarter of 2025, the private final consumption grew 3.1%, compared to the same quarter of the last year, due to the increase of employment and labour incomes earned by the households, according to the results of the Permanent Survey of National Employment (EPEN). During the year 2025, private final consumption expanded by 3.3%.
Government final consumption expenditure increased by 1.5%
During the last quarter of the year 2025, the government final consumption expenditure increased by 1.5% compared to the same period of the year 2024. This result was based in the positive behavior of the expenditure in Public and Defense Administración (1.6%), Public Education (3.4%) and Public Health (0.2%). At the end of year 2025, this indicator increased by 3.4%.
Gross fixed investment rose by 10.8%
During the fourth quarter of 2025 the gross fixed investment increased by 10.8%, due to the increase of the private investment (12.3%), due to the greater construction of residential buildings, office, warehouses and works of civil engineering, also increased the mining investment. Public investment grew 5.8% due to the greater execution of general government in projects of road infrastructure and non-residential buildings. By type of good, investment in construction (9.0%) and in machinery and equipment (13,7%) increased.
During the year 2025, gross fixed investment grew 9.9%, compared to the year 2024, due to the greater private investment that grew by 11.2% and public investment by 5.8%. By components, the investment in construction grew by 6.5% and machinery and equipment grew by 14.9%.
Exports and imports of goods and services registered a positive behavior
From October to December of 2025, the export of goods and services increased by 5.3% compared to the same period of the last year. The main products which sales abroad increased were: lead ore (142.5%); milled coffee (55.7%); iron ore (39.4%); zinc ore (32.7%); refined copper (26.5%); grape (10.4%); gold ore (4.4%) and other fruits (3.6%).
In addition, during the year 2025, exports of goods and services increased by 5.9%, compared to the year 2024, due to the growth of external sales of fish products and refrigerated and frozen seafood (32.7%); grape (18.8%); fishmeal of marine biological resources (18.8%); zinc ore (14.8%); milled coffee (12.4%); gold ore (10.0%); other fruits (7.6%) and copper ore (2.8%).
On the other hand, during the fourth quarter of 2025, imports of goods and services increased by 11.6%, compared to the same period of the year 2024, explained by the overseas purchases of the following products: automobiles (30.1%); vans, omnibus and light lorries (24.0%); machinery for the industry (22.3%); other machinery of general use (21.4%), diesel (14.3%) among others.
During the year 2025, the imports of goods and services registered an increase of 13.0%, compared to the last year, due to the greater overseas purchases, of vans, omnibus and light lorries (29.5%); automobiles (26.3%); machinery for the industry (16.5%) and other machinery of general use (15.3%), mainly.
GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT DUE TO ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2025
During the fourth quarter of 2025, the gross value added of the following activities Agriculture, Livestock, hunting and Silviculture increased by 1.0%, compared to the same quarter of the year 2024, due to the positive behavior of agriculture (0.1%) and livestock (2.4%) sectors. During the year 2025, this economic activity increased by 4.8%.
Between the month of October to December of 2025, the GDP of the Fishing and Aquaculture activity decreased -3.3% compared to the same period of the last year, explained by the reduction of the maritime (-2.8%) and continental (-11.5%) fishing. As of the fourth quarter of 2025, this activity added a growth of 2.9%.
During the last quarter of 2025, the gross value added of the activity of Extraction of Oil, Gas, Minerals and Allied services reduced by -0.4%, compared to the same period of the last year, due to the lower extraction of crude oil, natural gas and allied services (-3.1%), behavior that was dimmed by the stationary result of the extraction of minerals and allied services. In the year 2025, this activity increased by 1.4%.
During the fourth quarter of 2025, the GDP of the Electricity, Gas and Water activity grew 2.5% compared to the same quarter of the year 2024, explained by the increase of production of electricity and gas (2.6%) and water (1.6%) subsectors. In the year 2025, this activity increased by 2.0%.
Gross value added of the Construction activity increased by 9.0%, during the fourth quarter of the year 2025, compared to the same period of the year 2024, driven by the greater execution of works of the private and public sector. During the year 2025, this activity expanded by 6.7%, mainly due to the greater execution of works of road infrastructure.
From October to December of 2025, Commerce activity increased by 4.4%, due to the favourable performance of wholesale and retail trade (4.0%), as well as services maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles (11.7%). Commerce activity registered a growth rate of 3.6%, during the year 2025.
Transportation, Storage, Postal and Courier activity expanded 3.7%, during the fourth quarter of the year 2025, as a result of the positive performance of the transportation subsectors (3.8%) and storage, postal and courier (3.1%). During the year 2025, transportation activity, storage, postal and Courier accumulated an increase of 5.0%.
During the fourth quarter of 2025, gross value added of the Accommodation and Restaurants activity expanded by 3.9%, driven by the favourable performance of accommodation (4,4%) and restaurants (3.9%) subsectors. During the year 2025, this activity grew by 2.3%.
GDP of the Telecommunication and Other Services of Information activity decreased by -1.0%, during the last quarter of the year 2025, explained by the negative performance of telecommunication subsector (-1.2%), meanwhile other services of information subsector did not registered variation. As of the year 2025, this economic activity decreased by -0.4%.
During the fourth quarter of 225, the activity of Financial, Insurance and Pensions Services increased 0.9%, compared to the same period of the last year, mainly due to the increase of activities of financial services (0.5%), pension funds administration (9.3%) and of insurance services (0.4%). This economic activity registered a progress of 0.5%, at the end of the year 2025.
During the last quarter of the year 2025, gross added value of Services Provided to Companies increased by 3.7%, compared to the same period of the last year. Likewise, at the end of the year 2025 this activity accumulated a similar growth (3.7%).
GDP of the activity Public and Defense Administration increased by 4.4%, during the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of the year 2024, explained by the service registered in improvements of ability for operations of national defense; patrolling by sector; police operations to reduce of crimes and misdemeanors, between the main ones. During the year 2025, this activity registered a similar growth (4.4%).
Between the months of October and December of 2025, activity Other Services increased by 4.2%, compared to the same quarter of the last year, explained by the favourable performance of the activities that are part of them. During the year 2025 this activity grew 4.0%.
